Hello! I really love your "3D" photographs...I'm not quite sure what to call them but specifically the ones with the lollipop, tampon and egg. They're very cool and such a neat idea, I was wondering if you took the photographs under the objects or you just combined the photos and 3D objects? Anyways, love your photography (:

Hope you don’t mind me posting this, because it’s not the first time I’ve gotten this question so might as well. :)

What I did was I either took the “underneath” photo, then printed it out, OR retrieved the image from a magazine. I then placed a sheet of clean glass (always has to be flawlessly clean!) over that image. I then would proceed to laying the object/substance over the glass. Then I took another photo from directly above, with my own makeshift “Darkbox” so that there would be no reflection in the glass of me or my surroundings. Et voila! Like magic it becomes one very deceptive image.

Oh, also, I called the set “Adornment.”

I’m dyeing my hair back to my natural color, dark brown. I am also getting a trim because it is very dead right now and in order for it to grow I need to chop the ends or else the split ends will travel further up the strand. I want to slowly nurture my hair back to health. I know dyeing it will only result in killing it further though so I only plan on doing so when I purchase the right treatment (shampoo/condish) for my hair.
I’m just worried cause it’s bleached underneath, so no matter what color I dye it, it will always go lighter with each wash. I’m nervous it’s gonna end up some weird wonky color like grey after like 5 washes.. :/

I think the main thing I detest about PMA (people my age) is that nobody takes the time to get to know each other anymore. It actually disgusts me whenever a guy “hits on” me without hearing me utter a single sentence. Especially when those flirtations lead to “asking me out.” And I really don’t buy the whole “well we get to know each other WHEN we go out” because honestly, you’re a stranger to me. Why would I want to go out with a stranger?
I don’t know, I guess I’m just backwards. I don’t want to purposely GO OUT with someone with the intention of “Dating.” I want to get to know someone for who they are without any other underlying desires.
And then simply go from there.
My parents got engaged after seeing each other for two months. And they’re still together. That was 30-some-odd years ago. Simple, simple. Because they KNEW life is short. No fooling around necessary. People nowadays think we have too many options. (Not going to lie, sometimes I think the same) but the truth is, we don’t. I know I’ll be celebrating the day I find somebody who loves me (for WHO i REALLY am).

But anyway. Now reading over that I’m about to change my mind about everything I just wrote. Better post this before the feeling slips away for good.
